Hey, guys! Not a recent fan of Marc, but a recent member of this community. I hope icons aren't an inappropriate thing to post -- let me know if they are.

That said, 20 Marc Broussard icons.

( I wish you heartache that leaves you more of a man. )

Cross-posted to marcbroussard, marc_broussard, minimal_icons, and pantyshopping. Sorry if you see it more than once!

Marc to release new soul album June 26th! [02 Apr 2007|05:09pm]

You’ve waited patiently and your waiting has paid off! On June 26th, Marc Broussard will be releasing S.O.S.: Save Our Soul, an 11-song tribute to the soul music he was brought up on – the 11th song is a Marc original! “I want to take what was beautiful and right about old-school soul and make it alive again,” Marc said about the album.

Starting today, you will be able to stream “You Met Your Match”, a Stevie Wonder cover, on Marc’s MySpace page (www.myspace.com/marcbroussard) and we will be adding new tracks every so often until the release, so keep an eye out!

Very soon the album will go on presale through Marc’s online store, so look for an e-mail in the next few weeks with further details. Marc will tour this summer in support of this new release and we will send all the details once we have them. The full track listing for the new CD is as follows:

1) You Met Your Match - Stevie Wonder
2) If I Could Build My Whole World Around You (with Toby Lightman) - Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
3) Harry Hippie - Bobby Womack
4) Let the Music Get Down In Your Soul - Rance Allen
5) I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know - Al Kooper/Blood Sweat & Tears
6) Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler) (with David Ryan Harris) - Marvin Gaye
7) Love and Happiness - Al Green
8) I've Been Loving You Too Long - Otis Redding
9) Respect Yourself (with Nickie Conley) - The Staple Singers
10) Yes We Can, Can - Allan Toussaint
11) Come In From The Cold - Marc Broussard/Justin Tocket/Radney Foster)

The CD was produced by Justin Tocket and Calvin Turner and is a must-have for fans of Marc, as well as anyone who loves old-school soul. We hope you enjoy the album as much as Marc and his band enjoyed making it!

Original Version of Wanderer?? [08 Feb 2007|01:57pm]

Hey guys! My name is Lisa and I have been a Marc fan for about 5 years now! I saw him play at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago when he opened for OAR and he played a different version of Wanderer! I have it on some old cd I made like 5 years ago but its all scratched and I want to download it again! Does anyone know where I can find it???
I met Marc last year when he played at my college (IWU) and I asked him why he changed the lyrics b/c its my favorite song and he said that he changed it so long ago that he doesn't even really remember the words to the original version!! So maybe I am totally out of date and I won't be able to find it but just wondering if anyone else knows about the original version and could give me some hints!!!
Marc is so nice in person!!! and he is an amazing performer!! ~Lisa~

It's about the music... [06 Nov 2006|12:09pm]

I just discovered that there is this other LJ community out there for Marc and a few of the things I'm reading really bothered me. I am a good friend of Marc's and work with him. It's supposed to be about the MUSIC, not his personal life. What Marc's children look like or if he's married or any of those things really are none of your business unless he's made them pubic information in an interview. What he does backstage or at a venue is NOT for the workers to share with you to share with this community. That is a breach of privacy and not cool. And mostly because it's second-hand information and often times totally untrue.

Marc is an AMAZING musician and I think that's how we all discovered him and why we like him in the first place. What he does in his personal life really doesn't have anything to do with that - this is true of ALL artists. LOVE the music, RESPECT the privacy, and we can all get along.

If you want to know more about Marc, check out the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) posted at the top of the Carencro forum at his message board - www.momentarysetback.com

Rock on,

To all you Marc Broussard fans...I hope it's ok if I brag for a minute but I thought I'd let you in on what I just experienced.

To start off...as I've said before...Marc's brother Ben is married to my first cousin - with that said...I FRICKIN talked to Marc on the phone for a few minutes!!! It was really really cool. I haven't seen him since my cousin's wedding but he remembered me...I think lol. Well that's it for now.

**Peace out**

While procrastinating (it's almost finals time here in C-Ville), I stumbled across some Marc videos people have taken at concerts.

Don't Change Horses? [18 Nov 2005|03:07am]

Marc is currently performing a cover of Tower of Power's song "Dont Change Horses (In the Middle of a Stream)." I found a clip of the original here, if anyone wants to check it out! I'm a little sad to no longer hear "Steamroller" and "Maybe Your Baby" as part of the set list, but Marc was really having fun with the new cover-- and with the whole concert in general. It's funny, this was my third Marc concert and I felt like I had seen him grow up as a musician. He seems much more comfortable in his own skin on stage than he did three years ago! What used to just be in his legs is now all over the stage.

And, the 11/17 show at Starr Hill in Virginia was awesome as usual, though Brandi Carlisle went on a little too long as one of the openers. Gibb Droll's band was the other opener, which was fun because it's Gibb, he's from Virginia, and he's out of control!

Something that sketched me out: some girls who just happened to be college freshmen were outside of the venue and saw a man they assumed was a roadie. They asked him, "How long have you been working for Marc?" to which he replied, "A couple of years now," and then when everyone around him started laughing, he explained that he was Marc, the girls had never seen a picture of him so they had no idea. Then he invited them to a party on the bus after the show. Is this as sketchy as it sounds to me?

"It's good to be back in the SOUTH!" - Marc

No pictures from this one, sorry y'all!

Hello Everyone!
My name is Jordan and I just joined!
Little bit about myself: I'm 21 from Indianapolis, IN...
I have been a Marc fan for a really long time now. I first heard about him like 2 years (maybe?) ago when he was touring with Maroon 5. He ended up not opening for them here in Indy (Michael Tolcher did, which was amazing!).
I have never seen Marc in concert, only because when he was here earlier this year he came to a venue that was 21 years + (The Music Mill, which I saw pics of on someone else's post), and I had not yet turned the big 2-1. I was very mad, but I got over it.
But this friday I am seeing him for the first time in Bloomington. I am very excited!
Just curoius as to what I should expect from in live, and does he generally come out and meet fans? I want to meet him pretty badly. I have heard that he is very sweet, do you guys whom have met him agree?

Thanks so much, and I look forward to reading this comm.

Our server here at work is once again not operational, so I am here playing around in Photoshop.  I taught myself how to make glitter animations and figured I'd make an icon while I am at it.  If you like it, please feel free to use it.  I'll add it to my website later on tonight as well.

Gotta tell you it sucks having to get up at 5 a.m. to be at work for 7, but at least VH1 is playing the video for "Home." Makes getting up before dawn a little more bearable. I usually catch it right about 6 (cdt), just in case anyone else is in the same boat.
